I think you have to rethink the minigames. Most people I think see PnC adventure games as a challenge to the mind, not to the fingers. Allthough many of us like speedgames, shooters etc. as well, I think you shouldn't mix them up.
If I play a PnC, I don't mind wandering around for a long time trying to figure out what to do. I do mind however having to chop trees or catch bugs, if the fact that I cannot hit my keyboard fast enough prevents me from continuing the game. If I want to play a game like that, I'll find one (and probably not get a top of the leaderboard score :)), but with a PnC I want to be ableto think my way out of it.
Adding a minigame is not necessarily bad by itself, but you should be able to finish it in your own good (or rather bad...) time. The bug game, for instance, could have been OK if there was no time limit to get them all three. In that case, it would have been a matter of figuring out when to click for each bug; after a while you would be able to solve even if you are not very quick.
Other than that, very nice game. Love the graphics and the in-game comments, and was glad to see that it was no longer necessary to use the arrow keys for walking!
You make a good point. Though you do have all the time in the world to solve the bug catching game. If you mess up and some bugs start escaping just wait until all the bugs escape and try again otherwise you will never catch all the bugs in time.
It does take a bit of logical reasoning to work out the best way to catch the bugs. I do agree that maybe the puzzles should all be geared towards thinking rather than reaction speed but we also considered that having a game like the bug game would offer some variety to the game play. It's not overly difficult to win the bug game if you are patient.
Nice, too short and too easy of course, but I guess you know that already :)
Music fitted in nicely. I wouldn't use those big arrows anymore though; it's sometimes helpful not to have too search for every different location in a game, but this was too much. Also, while it is a good trick to need the light to see e.g. the key, it is not necessary to have it light up that obviously. Still, because it was a first game, 7/10 and keep on making them :) !
Nice improvement on sphere core. Puzzles were nice, but three wheels with the same setup was unnecessary. Nice touch at the end, using the blocked door!
